I would feel awful if that happened but I would know if she had it right? Like she should be showing symptoms or dead if it was advanced? So I think she probably doesn’t? Which is good right? But I will take her and get her tested and on preventative just to be sure. I just read some flyer too that said like 25% of indoor cats can get it too? 1 in 4? Cause mosquitoes can get inside which makes sense and I guess it said they should be tested and on preventative too even if indoor? But I had never heard that. But it said only like 5% of cats are on prevention? But it did say they can get it just as much as dogs. I think people don’t really realize it’s possible or common in cats and tbh I was one of them

Theoretically any mammal can get heartworms, including humans.
The smaller the heart, the bigger the danger. Ferrets (even indoor ferrets) need to be on heartworm preventive because just one or two worms could kill them.
