First pullet egg today. Barely larger than a quail's egg. Too cute and earlier than I expected at 20 weeks. Good things are coming. And lots of eggs.

But she laid it in the compost pile and I almost missed it. The wood chips in the nest boxes are not liked.

Is it true the egg shells get thinner as the hens age? We have free choice oyster shell, egg shells, and bone broth bones. The shells are thin. They free range around the garden that didn't get planted this fall. Bugs and grass available along with their feed. They are almost through picking down the compost pile too. That is well liked by all.

Thinner, or thicker? Reproductive hiccups tend to happen with pullets and with aged hens. What feed are you using?

Wait... I just checked for a software update and apparently I can update to that one. I forgot I never installed it. but now I don’t know if I should after reading the problems you were having with it.
