I'm catching up so some these responses might be really old...
My mother was a 6th grade science teacher and had tarantulas and snakes in her classroom...aquariums with tight fitting screen tops.I do know that if it ever got out that my husband would not hesitate to go catch it because he has picked up black widows before without hesitation... He has zero fear of spiders.
I was scared of spiders before I met him, but I think it was more because my mom is scared of them so it rubbed off onto me. Now I don't mind them.
I had a bantam pair named Fred (Astair) and Ginger (Rogers).
I'm not good at names, but I'd do a pair name... My birds were Daphne and Fred. They came with those names when we adopted them.
Our adopted Rhodesian Ridgeback Ruby Rose was 4 when we got her. Ruby did not know how to play at all! She also had never been exposed to other animals, equipment sounds, or allowed to run free without a leash. At 6 in February, Ruby now carries around her favorite toy rabbit, gets really excited when we mention a ride in the Ranger to a back pasture for a run and no longer gets spooked by the sound of farm equipment, etc. When I got my beagle she was 3 years old and she used to bite so hard she would draw blood. She was an "outdoor" dog that no one paid attention to. She didn't even know how to play, it was very sad.
. Only in a Walmart or a state fair. I hate seeing butt cracks. It would not have been the first time I have seen a nekked boob while in a store.
