Have you got to the part with the old granny in the apartment yet?
I’m scared to ask

It's not super high pitched, but it's distinguishable from a LF rooster's crow.
I don't think I've observed any difference in the awareness of OEGBs vs standard breeds.
Honestly, the ball's pretty much in your court when it comes to aggression, IME. Breeds give general trends and influence which methods one uses. They don't deliver the final stamp on the results. If you read the rooster article linked in my signature, I won't have to clutter up this thread with more ramblings on my theories and the techniques I follow.![]()
Hmm, interesting. Off to look up different crows.

Thanks! That’s good. Idk why I thought they would be. Maybe it depends on the breed too? I know my flightier breeds, like the Leghorn and the Easter Eggers, tend to be more aware even though they’re standards. Whereas my Orpingtons seem a bit ditzy and will often not notice when the rest of the flock moves elsewhere and they’re left alone out in the open.

But those are hens. Maybe roosters in general are more aware than the hens ha
And thanks!! Once again very useful. That’s good to know it’s not necessarily the breed because I’ve heard a lot of different things, good and bad, about certain breeds that made me nervous to try some, including ones I have, but I’ll have to read your article.
Honestly I think I might just forgo the OEGBs for now and just try the Brabanters. Maybe get like a few each of the cream and the gold. And I might try some Birchen Cochin bantams too just because I really love the birchen pattern. Those aren’t sexed though but that’s fine.
Then maybe get a few ISA Browns from TSC when they get chicks in.
I was mostly just scared the standard roos would be more aggressive but seems it doesn’t work like that.
Find a friend with a pickup or go rent one for the stuff.
I don’t know anyone that has one. But I’m seriously close to just renting Although I think they’re finally starting to come around so I’m going to ask again tomorrow.
Honestly though I’ll probably just go with another dog kennel run or a hoop coop in which case I’d need a trailer or to find someone willing to deliver but we’ll see.
I can't believe I'm hatching chicks again

You’re turning into a hatching addict!!
I watched the first one so I had to watch the second one. It was hilarious. We laughed the entire time.
Hilarious? I thought it was a horror move and have been scared to watch it
