➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

The problem with games is there's a lot of peddlers out there that will say anything to swindle some money out of somebody. You really can only go on what the breeder tells you so unless you're in the loop so to speak you're prolly gonna be taken. That's why I tell people who want to get into them spend money on housing and stuff. Dont spend a lot on fowl at first cause in a few yrs after they learn some stuff and start connecting with people who breed they will probably find out what they thought they had is not what they have

No when my grandma died and we were clear out the house...I shoved some stuff in boxes.
I haven't really dug they them yet.

Oh.. I’m sorry. :( :hugs

:lau:gig:lau

OMG!!

They're so pretty!

I'm definitely ordering assorted bantams

So is everybody ordering bantams lately or? :lau

You won't get these kind in an order of assorted bantams.

True but should get some pretty birds.

Aww, cute. Hasbro finally listened to that suggestion I sent in all those years ago.

I thought I sensed your crafty mind at work here.

:lau:gig:lau

You guys crack me up!!

I'm going to swaps to get specialty breeds and I also know several bantam breeders

Sounds like a good plan. Was thinking you were getting a bantam assortment from Meyer when you got the others haha

Ok ok.
I thought you we're thinking you were going to get birds like his.

Meaning you aren't going to find birds like his very easily.

Yeah those probably are not easy to find. Although I have noticed some hatcheries do sell game birds but I don’t think they’re the same kind.

Oh no. I want polish and silkies from the assortment :D

Meyer is definitely good for those ones! :D

And for the popular standards miniaturized.

But some have tons of bantams haha

Like I never knew there were so many freaking Cochin or OEGB colors till I looked at Cackle and Ideal haha

Speaking of, I did a test earlier and Ideal’s chicks are actually cheaper than Meyer for most of like the basic/popular breeds. The bantams and some others are more expensive but Ideal is like 20-30 cents cheaper for the basic ones. Although you do have to order more birds to meet the $30 minimum and they do have a $7 small order charge (which really is not that bad cause Cackle’s is $20) but even so, for 9 chicks (I upped the Meyers order for a fair comparison), it winds up like $30 cheaper even with all the fees and stuff :th

But of course if you can’t have 9 chicks or whatever and need a small amount, it’s worth it. I guess maybe that is why Meyer is more expensive because their clientele is probably mostly backyard chicken people doing tiny orders rather than people ordering hundreds so they need to charge more to make money probably.
