➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I used to collect bells as well. That came about from my grandmother who collected them. When she passed away I got most of her collection. I have this wooden bell. I don't know how old it is but I think it is quite old. Probably not valuable or anything. Just old in a neat way. I'll see if I can get a pic of it.
I'll see if I can dig some of my bells out of hiding today too.

My bell collection started from one of my grandmother's too.

during one of the billion hurricanes that we've had to deal with she was staying with me because she had to evacuate Louisiana.
Anyways she decided to fall in the middle of the night and broke her arm.
She would ring the bell from her bed when she needed something.
It would drive me nuts because her arm was broken not her legs... Anyways that's how I started collecting bells.

There aren’t any kind of markings so I’m assuming that it’s one that someone made. My grandmother had it for I don’t know how long before I got it and I am 44. It’s nothing extravagant. I just think it’s neat.

Eta: I really need to put some wood oil/polish on it. I will probably do that since I have it out now lol.

You never know! Some of the weirdest, ugliest stuff that you would never think would ever be valuable can be really valuable! But then of course some stuff you think is worth a ton ends up being worth nothing. It is really weird what is and what isn’t. Ever watch Antiques Roadshow? I love that show. :D

Also sorry about your grandma. :hugs

Yes, I have watched Antique Roadshow many times. It is amazing some of the finds people have. I love learning about the history of the items.

No. Unacceptable. Banty did that and I have still not forgiven her. You have to watch at least the first whole season before making up your mind.
:tongue
Almost everything. Now the ginger needs to get into classes.
:th
And for the record, you don't have to be invincible to fear to like horror movies. I'm terrified of clowns, that's why I loved IT so much.
And I jump at EVERY jumpscare.
I don't like straight horror movies, but I'll watch scary stuff if it has a good plot. I too flinch violently at every jumpscare. Worse, it makes me an incredibly fun person to startle in real life too. I know few people that have not taken advantage of this at one time or another.

I'm not sure why I flinch so easily. Most people flinch once then won't do it again if the action is repeated, especially after more than a few times. Not so for me. Even when it's not scary to the point of being laughable.

Here is a random musing. Do you have a favorite coffee mug or cup? I have too many coffee mugs. I find myself collecting them. I don’t know why. I like certain styles or sizes or funny sayings. And if my hubby goes out of town on business, he brings me back a coffee mug from wherever he was at. If we’ve gone on vacation, it’s easy to pick up a mug in remembrance. These are 2 of my favorite coffee mugs and they have absolutely NOTHING to do with vacationing or business trips. LOL!!!

I have a few, but mostly out of the convenience their varying sizes offer. I have one set of rather plain mugs that I'm rather attached to for some reason. Oh, and a very small mug with a duck on the bottom. I quite like that one as well.

Your poor grandmother needed a bell like this Lol! I picked this up at an “antique shop”. I use quotes because I think they are more so like a thrift store/ flea market type stores more than “antique”. I’m sure there are some legit places that sell actual antiques but I don’t think this was one of them. I bought it because of its size and uniqueness. I hadn’t ever seen one like it before. I bought it when my daughter was young. Heck, before my son was born. He is 22 so it’s been at least 24 yrs ago. It’s one of my favorites.

I don’t have any pictures of the beanies. I really haven’t done a whole lot. That’s why I say I am a beginner. I’ve started I don’t know how many different scarfs but I struggle to finish. I really want to make an Afghan but haven’t. It’s a patience thing lol. Maybe some day.
I made froo froo scarfs a few Christmas's ago for my SIL and mom.
