Look at all the burros that need homes.

When I lived in Southern California, we looked at a piece of property that had wild burros all over the place. It was in Riverside County and the property was on a hill with higher hills on two sides. Kind of like a natural very large amphitheater. The burros were up on the hillsides and you could see them in herds up there. Lots of open land in the Riverside hills. We didn't end up buying that land but it would have been neat to be able to watch them all the time.

That would have been amazing!

I know we have a few wild horse herds in CO, but I didn't realize there were donkeys on the loose in the US! They are supposed to help keep predators at bay and keep your herd/flock calm and protected.

Minis are used for showing also. There is a huge show market for them and they can be really expensive. The breeder that I bought one of my horses from had minis for showing. Less expensive to feed and take care of. Everything is smaller from the tack to the trailers used to haul them. Most minis get overfed and look like little round butterballs but the show minis that win the highest awards actually look like well proportioned horses - in miniature. Like others said, they can be less intimidating, so cute to watch too. A mini horse bucking is one of the cutest things to watch. It's probably the wow factor too - "wow! Did you see that??"
Have any of you all hear of our Houston Rodeo?
Check out the dollar amounts some animals sell for!

I'm glad you didn't eat him!!I've heard of a people who eat the chick out of the egg.Good luck! Also, I hatched quail, they're pretty tricky, good luck on those too! My grandmother had chickens once upon a time and one day we cracked open an egg to find an embryo...We didn't think we had a rooster.
Balut is very popular I am finding out because of my accidental purchase. :sick
What kind of quail did you hatch?
