In my experience, pickling is not successful in making things less salty. I do like the jalapeno idea. Those make everything taste better.

Pickle them with raw potatoes. Potatoes will draw the salt out of anything. Just remember to toss the potatoes afterwards.

The ol potato trick. A good one to know, but honestly, I think I'll just skip eating frozen eyeballs. The nutritional content does not justify the means necessary to make them edible.

I use the round tip blade on my pocket knife.

I was told, from a reliable source but I haven't tried it myself, once you suck the brains out, just reach in and pop them out from behind is really easy to do. I can understand it would be more difficult if everything is already frozen. YMMV

It is easier for me to just cut them out than it is to remove the brains without destroying the skull.
