I have a love hate relationship with pigeons but even I have to admit those are awesome!

I think you should go a whole different route and focus on valley quail. I raised them in the early 90's and they were wayyyy cooler to watch than jap quail. You can make them a whole habitat like a zoo has

I dont think valley quail would be feasible for eating I'm pretty sure jap quail reproduce more
