So this has me thinking I might be able to get away with keeping them for a couple of weeks before they go to their new home.

I'm trying to figure out if it will be better for them to go sooner rather than later.

If they are going to be integrated into another flock then I'd keep them as long as possible so they can grow as big as possible and feather out as much as possible before moving outside! Plus then you can have ducklings!
