My mom calls all dogs Kiki and all cats Mimi, regardless of gender. When she adopted her cat I told her the previous owners named him Bob (short for Bobcat), she still calls him Mimi

NO JOKE.

I wasn't sure how it would go when Mr. Ruger came home, Athena is not a friendly cat. She pretty much hates everyone and everything. Mr. Ruger was supposed to be an outdoor only cat (once I got all his shots and got him neutered)... well you can see how that went, they surprisingly became friends and now he sleeps in my bed. I do send him out in the afternoons though and he catches voles and then comes home when he gets cold or hungry or it gets dark and he scratches on the door to come inside, so it works out.

I did not know about this! I just gifted and/or ate many of my eggs, so my basket isn't as colorful as it usually is. My girls better lay in the next 2 days so I can take some pictures!
