➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Get him small puppy food. Dry small pieces. If he can eat dry, its much better for his teeth. There are some really good grain free dry foods that would work really well.
Thanks. He doesn't have a problem eating his dry food..I just found it weird that the vet suggest I switch him to wet food.

I had a rat dog for 16 plus years and I never fed her wet food and was never advised to.

Bobo eats his dry food just fine...I think ( I do take a mallet to it to break it up for him) I am debating on if I really should switch him to wet food.

Sorry I'm still catching up but I just wanted to say that we've found dry food better for dogs teeth, keeps them cleaner. When we've only fed wet food they've gotten tooth decay quickly, especially for littler dogs. Maybe wet food is easier on their tummys though, I'm not sure

Hmmmm.... I don't remember a vet ever telling me to give a dog canned food. Even when the doggy dentist pulled Monkeys teeth he said we 'could' switch him over to canned, but that soaked dry was what he recommended. We thought we'd be nice & buy canned because we knew his mouth would be sore, but none of the dogs will eat it.

I agree with roomie.

The only time we actually NEEDED to feed wet food was when my big idiot swallowed a rock. He had major surgery....total nightmare!
He spent a full week at the vet then a full 2 weeks confined to the kitchen with me.
we ended up giving him boiled chicken blended with chicken broth the first week since wet dog food was rejected. Second week I started adding dry food to the hot broth before cooling and blending.

Do not switch. It’s sticky and will stick to teeth and cause dental problems. Dry food is better because it rubs against the teeth instead of sticking. I add about a 1/2 tablespoon to Kats dry food sometimes if I notice her weight is dropping. She gets free choice dry food all day long. If the little guy has trouble eating the dry you can add warm water to soften it up.

He also charged me $15 whole green dollars for this stuff!
He said to give it twice a day until the tube is gone...just to make sure he gets a good start at life.
WhAT?
Poor dog is already in much better shape than he was.
I am going to fuss big time at you know who and force her to do something about the flea problem.
He doesn’t need that lol girl if your pup is at a healthy weight he doesn’t need all these extra things the vet is tricking you into buying.
Let me go find my phone.
Y'all wanna see what tapeworm looks like in puppy poo?
Wanna compare? My new pup had it too. No fleas on her though. I went ahead and treated all 4 of my pups (paranoid) and it only cost me $20 for double doses for everyone. Love my vet and her staff.
poor poor pupper.

The things we do for our pets. We spent a small fortune on our spaniel after he was bitten by a rattlesnake. We were just thankful he pulled through. It was a huge rattlesnake and our dog was full battle mode on it, so the snake meant business when he bit.
Here in the Capay Valley they have rattle snake avoidance classes for Dogs!
