Get some black cherry concentrate and take daily shots of it!
Not fake cherry juice..the real stuff.

Hmm. I saw a couple references that cherries have high oxalic acid content that will also contribute to gout. This was the same time I was eating lots of spinach and having joint pains. Yep, spinach is high in oxalic acid also. :barnie Along with mushrooms. Maybe the juicing drops the oxalic acid crystals out. Good luck!

So, I did a lot of research and changed diet again. I'm guessing I compounded a lot of things as I was recovering from the tree nuts and not purging the oxalic acid by keeping the intake with spinach, mushrooms and cherries. After the research, I feel better. I still eat all those things in moderation. With moderate pain.

By the way, alcohol will gout you up too. As in, I'm not walking today but limping around. It hurts. But I sure did feel good yesterday! The gout hits the arthritis in the joint. Good Morning!

Gimpy! Sunday funday at the nut house?

I love cherries, garlic and wine. So far, no gout, which is good. I would hate to give those things up.
Gout is a lot inherited so if it is not a problem with your relatives, You should be fine.

I wonder when 23andMe will release gout markers?

I'm popping in here before I read the last page....didn't want a monster quote page..:lau

I do need to add more nuts to my diet. I love Almonds and pecans. Walnuts hurt my mouth but that might be something to do with the oil them.
KETO diet...best nuts are pecans, Brazil, macadamia and walnuts followed by almonds.

Be careful, I found out I get gout if I eat a lot of tree nuts or peanuts after talking with Dad and his gout issues. Did you know roasted soy beans will also cause gout? Doctor, it hurts when I eat nuts...
All things in moderation. :tongue
Do some research on purines. The higher the purines in the foods you eat, the more flare ups you will have.
Hubby has been on meds for gout for years.
He loves baked potatoes...high in purine. So to balance that, he gets to have sour cream on it.
Asparagus is high, fresh or frozen cherries are low.

I am overly fond of garlic. Lentils on occasion.
I was "eating healthy" and had almonds as daily snacks at work. Had trouble walking. Asked and the Doc said, no indications. Let's monitor it.
Good news - it didn't kill me!
Now, I want garlic toast and I've already had my loaf for this week. Patience...
"If you have the money, honey, we have your disease."
We grow our own garlic...some varieties are spicy and others are mild. Makes a difference in the way it's cooked too.

Any one ever have a 7+ year old hen who has been laying a few eggs a year for a couple of years start laying 2 or 3 eggs a week for 4 months? My old Lady EE started laying blue eggs again on Christmas Day and has continued to lay 2 or 3 a week since with no signs of stopping. Little pea comb remains bright red.
I have several 7 and 8 year old hen's. The oldest is a Minorca who still lays 5 jumbo white eggs per week.

Everyone should eat fresh garlic daily.
I'm a fan and so is hubby and all our girls. :drool
We grow it, freeze it, can it, dehydrate it, pickle it, roast it, grind it, marinate it, pack it in oil, cook with it and toast it...and hubby swallows the tiny cloves whole. He also eats a lot of cherries.

We eat a lot of poke and spinach. I can both. Parboil the spinach (or poke), rinse it and then add your flavoring...any like pork or bacon or chili peppers or eggs. The rinse removes the high levels of oxalic acid from the spinach.
Again look up purines.
Hubby takes Ulloric for his gout too.
