Are they trying to block the rain with their wing?

No they lift the wing to let the water under. Pigeons love to bathe but I don’t have a way to give them a pool outside. So I put the hose on a gentle rain and aim it over. They will walk into it and fluff and preen. It’s too funny.

You forgot dominate, obstinate and constantly challenging for pack lead. Loved my Catahoula leopard dog. Gorgeous coat. Hard head. They take time, patience and a firm hand.
Good squirrel dogs too.

I thought a catahoula would be a good match for my ACD but maybe not. She already has a head like a boulder and more energy then she needs.... I don’t need 2 like that!

Ok. I will also admit that her personality is very challenging. I have a golden retriever for contrast after all and they could not be more different. The catahoula is not openly accepting and loving of everyone. She will run up to everyone, but it's barking with hackles up. I have had several dogs in my life, but actually had to seek out a private trainer with this one as I did not know how to handle the instinctual guarding of me and mistrust of strangers. People were scared of her and she was scared of them and her reaction brinked on aggression. Don't get me wrong, she is a lover, but only with those she has accepted into her pack, which is why she would be great with farm animals, the chickens at my house are hers and she circles them and keeps the neighbor dogs away. She is o obsessive about things too a squirrel a tennis ball being let a noise she heard out the window...

Our beautiful Catahoula would constantly challenge our chow mix, Kiki. (I kid you not! Son had learned "kitty, kitty" from the new kitten. Then this little ball of puppy fluff arrives and he says "Kiki! Kiki!" We could not get him off that, so the dog's name was Kiki. Don't argue with a 3 year old.) The Chow mix would let the Catahoula push and push and then she would break bad and the Catahoula would bleed and limp around. We would say, you will learn. Nope. Hard headed dog.

Finally found another home for Kiki since we couldn't keep both. Good natured and we didn't trust the Catahoula with anyone else. Very bonded to me. Like you said, protective of one person. Needed a farm job for that dog. Compared to him, all the others are well behaved. So Crazy Lady won't have another Catahoula.

Yes @RUNuts my husband blames me for her protectiveness because she is more protective of me. It's hard because there are times I want her to be. I don't want strangers on my property or in my house, I want to be safe when hiking and camping, but I want to be able to invite a friend inside or take the dog to a public park and not worry about the behavior of the dog. I've learned I just have to train the people around me. I tell them to ignore her, and sure enough, if the dog is not provoked or feeling threatened, within a few minutes she is nudging the hands of of scary stranger friend I invited over for dinner trying to convince them to pet her even though she was trying to convince them to get out of our house just minutes before, or she will come drop a tennis ball at their feet (obsessed with a ball, will automatically be the friend of any human with a ball and fight to the death with any dog with a ball). She also without fail tries to herd small children, though this is probably the Australian Shepherd in her.

My cat is often called Kiki by me, you're right, it's a name that sticks. I had never had a cat before and I asked my husband if you can teach a cat to come when you call them and asked how to call a cat. Well, she ended up "Kiki" most of the time.

Wait, and you mean to tell me you found a home for a dog? You didn't keep them all? You must have had more than 13 at the time since we have established 13 is the proper number of dogs
