I recently looked up the record high temp in my town. I believe it was 81* Just lovely.

We have both. It can be 114° in summer and -12° in winter. You NEVER get used to the weather. Ever.

I've always thought it was normal to have both. We rarely ever have to use our heater. I'm talking like maybe 2 days a year.

I've never had AC in any of my houses or apartments. I'm getting too old for that now. A couple weeks ago we had a vicious heat wave (early for us, we usually get hammered in August & September.) I swear I grew ugly, drooling fangs, a demon voice & started growling. DH rushed off to like 5 home depots/Lowes to find one of those portable ac's. He said people were fighting in one store for the last one & that they were going out of stock on other stores right before his eyes.
