➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

He's got the nice darker coloring too. I was recently looking at breeders in my area and nearly all of them are white blonde. A little disappointing. I really love the deeper golden, even red coat. Guess I will check again when the time comes!
He is extremely majestic when he isn’t being a goofball.
The other Golden is lighter colored than him and super cute, but dumber than a bag of rocks lol (sorry Tesa)

Nope, part of the tissue inside the eye socket prolapsed. Sometimes you can massage it back, but he needed surgery.

That’s crazy! We have two bulldogs and I had no idea that it could prolapse so easily. I thought it was usually a genetic issue and showed up very early. Good to know!

It’s most common in bug eyed and droopy skinned breeds. It’s the tear duct of the nictating eyelid that prolapses, usually happens to young dogs but it’s a pretty simple surgical fix

Oh goodness, what a handsome boy! I am such a dang sucker for big dogs
I am too, our bulldogs feel like tiny dogs compared to him. :gig Then we have our sweet Lab/St. Bernard x Basset mix who looks full lab with the longer basset ears. :D I forget how large he is until people come over and ask why there is a bear in our house. :lau

That’s awesome lol. The only reason I don’t already own a Great Dane or a wolfhound is because the short lifespans put me off.

I knew cherry eye was possible, we got ours checked religiously every time we had a check up, but I had no idea that excitement could prolapse it. We had a pug who went blind and we swore those things would pop out of her head but they never did. :idunno Our Basset went blind from glaucoma, she was the one that recently passed.

Trust me, I’ve had my fair share of sobbing sessions just thinking about how he’s already five years old. :( So sad to think about but I knew that when I bought him.
