Good thing I just bought a new pitchfork for turning hay. So much for a low maintenance build, hm.
I have to say your run looks amazing, I have been using the deep litter method in my coops for 3 years, primarily using hay, now not regular hay, I am raising sheep and order alfalfa blend hay so not so woodsy..So far I have not experienced any molding issues, I completely fork out once a year, and every 3 months or so I pitchfork out the top 8 inches or so, this would be gold for my garden but I just toss it into the run and my girls pick and scratch it to nothing.
