It would definitely be less attractive in a suburban area. Gunshots are normal here, but if there's a chance of getting the cops called on you, then I'd go with CD.

Worst thing to happen is the neighbors yapping about it on nextdoor.
The cops won't bug me...I went to high school with a few of them and they may just tease me about it later, lol

When hunting, it could be 6 hours from first light to getting back to the house for the cleaning. If shooting, it won't bleed out and the meat will taste a little different. Some like it that way. I'd say you have at least a 6 hour window. Do try to chill the meat soon-ish. It is all relative.

I never understood the "gamey" taste. Blood taste. Liver taste. Rotting taste. Yes, I've tried these. I've eaten this and the "gamey" is just too vague. I'll say no, but it may be. I've had people tell me it is gamey, but to me it was normal.

I'll use the blood from venison in the gravy. We normally make meat & gravy to serve over rice. Or quinoa for the new diet. It is really great with fresh baked bread. I'll give up rice for a loaf of home made bread slathered in butter and hot out of the oven. Really great with gumbo too. But then, I've never been a big rice fan.
