➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Same here! My heavy drinking days are LONGGGG GONE! I can't hang nor do I want to hang! I'm still a night owl though. I'm not sure that will ever change.
I love getting crazy! Still do every now and then, but nothing like the crazy things I used to do - those things are for the young and the mentally deranged :)
I just pay more dearly and for much longer than I used to. So very much longer...

Have you planted potatoes? This is my first year. They got big and bushy. Now the leaves are turning yellow. I'm not sure if it's just the life cycle or something is wrong or how to know when it's time to harvest?

When the potato plants bloom, they will already have started making potatoes. Many people use their hands to gently probe around and under the plants for new potatoes which can be harvested when they are big enough to satisfy you. It will not cause harm to the plants. I do not harvest the potatoes until the plants are dead but before the ground freezes. A light frost will not kill off the plants but a hard frost will.

If you feel like harvesting the potatoes, go ahead or perhaps just dig up a few for now.

Hmm... the weather has been wetter and colder, perhaps I should leave them alone and hope they keep growing underground.

I would only add that certain varieties of potato need to be cured before cooking OR can be boiled in the skin for five minutes and then prepared as you wish. This boil removes the toxin in the potato especially if it shows greenish surfaces from exposure to the sun.
We love new potatoes and fresh peas. Scrape off the skin of small potatoes. Boil five minutes. Drain and add chicken broth to cover. Add fresh peas and cook until tender. We add a little flour slurry and cook until the gravy thickens.
