➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I got the makeshift brooder set up. I’ve got a screen for the top so they don’t fly out. I’ve got enough material that I could make 2. I’m going to keep an eye out for a kiddie pool or something, but the tarp will make clean up easy anyways.
The dog isn’t allowed in the basement where the babies are so they should be safe enough.
Little yellow is starting to get white wing feathers!

Definitely not harder than adopting a kid.. it took us years to adopt my youngest brother from China.

I do agree that the hoops and requirements for animal adoption can be ridiculous, especially given the overpopulation crisis we have now. That being said, for many people rescuing & fostering is their entire livelihood. Who am I do get pissy if they want to make sure their animal doesn’t get abused or abandoned ever again?
But yea, I would never let someone have permission to unscheduled house visits for a kitten. Screw that noise lmao.

If she were someone affiliated with an actual shelter or rescue I MIGHT consider it. She was just a girl that found some kittens which means she has no training on home visits and no one to answer to if she gets out of line. Something about that didn't sit right with me. I also understand the passion behind the work that rescuers do though but to not pick over feed choices and the likes (like kdogg mentioned)is just overkill. If a person is well intentioned and has the means that should be enough and agrees to the rules for that animal's adoption that should be enough.

I asked my doctor about it yesterday. He said that other than epilepsy it's mostly effective for chronic pain. He definitely did not recommend it for me. :(

I was told the same. If you want it prescribed those are the only two uses. He's not recommending it to you bc he can't make money off of it unless it's for those two reasons. He can instead recommend a prescribed drug for whatever ails you and then he gets to profit. Dr's are business men above all else. You can buy your own and try it but it's expensive. I'm probably about to get some for myself just trying to figure out which type I want to try before I spend $150 on it.
