➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Out of my 6 pullets (22 weeks now), I have 3 laying consistently now (every day) and we got a 4th egg (double yoker) today. :celebrate So I have another one starting. :yesss: I feel fortunate that the eggs and shells have been so smooth and strong. They're small right now but that's just because they're just starting out. Well, except for the double yokers that I've gotten. I think each one has given me a double yoked egg when they first started laying. Today's double yoker is my 4th. They end up skipping a day and sure enough, a double the next day. I'm assuming this is normal since their systems are trying to work out all the kinks. My babies are growing up. :wee

I am afraid that I am seeing a lot of young (kid's) post (well maybe I have only seen two so far) that are stuck in between a rock and hard place.
Meaning it's not really their choice to leave their chickens behind when evacuating.

I really hate to see people scare them more by insisting that they load the birds up with them when they CAN'T.
