Do you have a quail cage? And could her big fluffy bottom hatch quail eggs? I assume she could do duck eggs no problem.
Australorps love to be broody too. Ours don't get the chance because our older hens attack them so they can be broody instead.I thought that maybe one of my Australorps was practicing. She stayed in the box for forever. I swear she was in there for an hr. I think she fell asleep![]()
I want to build one. And no, I won't get any quail eggs until I have one and it is all set up and good to go. I'll gladly buy some from you when the time is right tho.Do you have a quail cage?
Can you build one?
We can see if she can hatch quail when she does go broody.

My girls are small too, and their eggs reflect that. I'm hoping these babies that we hatched will take after their daddy lol! He passes on large layers too so fingers crossed. My Australorps are 11months old now. I'm still only having 5/6 of them laying so far. One is taking her time getting back in the swing of things. I'm having one give me some wonky shaped eggs too. The bottom part is nice and rounded and it looks like it gets squeeeezed at the top as it comes out lol. Is a little small and pointy. And most of their eggs are only medium sized. I was hoping they'd start to get bigger as they got older but nope. I just have smaller girls I guess.
Jokes on you. I’m always lurking. You were supposed to skip that post.
Yes! Why do you think it was chaos this morning?! Theia was trying to eat the tiny one!Tes do you have the doggies now?
