➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

This is the very first time that I ordered chicks, or any other live animal, via online. I didn't know anything about a will call. I went down to my local PO to see if I needed to do anything special since I would be receiving an order of chicks in. The woman basically looked at me like I was dumb and told me that they would call me. I said, ok, do I need to fill anything out and give you my number or anything. Again that blank stare and said, everything we need to know will come from the place that you ordered from. I left feeling like I was overly worrying. I don't know what to expect. I'm going to be a nervous wreck next week until I have them in my possession. I don't drive Nashville very often, and I am assuming that is where I would have to go. The traffic is awful! I will wait for them to come to my local PO.
This was basically my experience. I called and asked if there was anything special I needed to do for my chicks, the grumpy cow of a postal worker made me feel like an idiot and told me to pick them up as early as possible because they “weren’t gonna drive around with chicks all day.”
Got a call at 7am, drove 15 minutes to pick them up. I was gushing and cooing over them while Mrs. Stoneface Cow impatiently waited for me to leave. Wasn’t a bird lover I guess.

I just went with the cheapest shipping since I wasn't in any hurry but it still went out pretty fast. Pleasantly surprised. I am not happy with FedEx tho. I hate trying to get stuff from them. They have been just a pain in the butt for us. Constantly deliver to a house that is NOT ours. Usually the day they say they'll be delivering is one day and it ends up being a day or 2 later. So basically when they get around to it. Yes we have complained and No it has not done any good. I am so frustrated with them. But I got my package and it's all there and not broken so that is all that matters.

Sounds like you're going to have all kinds of goodies showing up. :clap

I ordered 8 chicks. Welsummer, Golden Cuckoo Maran, Austra White, Blue Andalusian, Blue Ameraucana, 2 Easter Eggers and a Lakeshore Egger. I'll definitely be taking pics and posting them once they come in. I can't believe the time is already here for them to get here. It seemed like forever and now it's like, Omgosh already?

I would’ve gone with the cheaper one and usually do but it wasn’t that much more, only a few bucks, especially in comparison to the cost of the incubator, and I am inpatient. :lau

And wow that is frustrating about FedEx!!

And yesssss!! I definitely am and I’m excited about it lol

And nice!! I think I remember you saying that now but I had forgotten the breeds ha but those are cool breeds. And it does seem like it’s come up fast!! Before I know it, mine are gonna be here lol

This is surprisingly delicious. Like a coke and a dreamcicle.

@dpenning I can start walking my neighborhood pond... Where my ducks live and look for eggs.
I can but I'm afraid of the goose and just recently a new mean goose arrived so now there are two meanies that don't let me get out of my car.
I have never seen an egg there before. I think someone else steals them already.
