➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Adult thankfully but she was such a great chicken.

I went out to the coop to refill their food cause it was low and I had just bought more and that's when I found her. By the door. Rigor had already set it which is why I feel so awful because I didn't even notice, I just assumed she was laying yesterday. I think maybe the heat got to her. She was almost 4 and kind of fat. I just feel like I could have saved her maybe if I had noticed but I’ve been so preoccupied with everything yesterday and today I’ve barely even had time to take care of myself let alone them. I just feel like the worst chicken owner ever. :hit
:hugs

I'm sorry.

Fat isn't good.
No more treats.

I have a lot of Filipino friends.

Balut is a Filipino dish.

I just found an American version of a balut online. As a matter of fact... I couldn't find anything online that my Filipino friends would consider a balut.

A real balut is buried underground for 6 months before it's served.

Autocorrect changed "a balut" to about.

Traditional balut is a boiled duck egg with a ~14-21 day old embryo inside.

A raw balut egg is just a partially developed duck embryo, which is what Kiki bought and managed to hatch.
