Yes intervention can be rude

Felt more like you were talking about me rather than to me or trying to help but I guess I could have misinterpreted that one too. Definitely hard to tell on the internet. I’m sure I did since I misinterpreted everything else. But honestly, no matter what the intention was, it was still pretty hurtful.

But I also think I probably took it in a more negative way maybe because of my past experiences even fairly recent ones. I’ve had a lot of people tell me that (that I just do stuff for attention, etc.) over the years and usually when it’s said, they do not mean it in a nice, kind, or helpful way at all. And then usually they always end up leaving shortly after too.

So I guess I just assumed that was your intention as well. So I’m sorry.

But it did hurt tbh.

And definitely didn’t help the anxiety I already have about whether you guys actually like me or all secretly hate me.

As to the second part, thank you. I’m going to work on that. I honestly wasn’t really sure if that’d be acceptable or not cause I kind of thought maybe it was an all or nothing type thing.

Sorry again for clearly misinterpreting them all.
That sounds incredible. If you ever end up making it, send me a pic.

They’re having to hunt them down like the pythons, for good reason.
Irresponsible pet owners ruin everything.

X2. Same with how now there are goldfish/carp everywhere!!! People don’t want their goldfish anymore and just dump them in some lake or stream!! They are now a huge problem in many areas! Destroying the environment and whatnot. I also think people don’t realize that they can get to over a foot long haha

We have SIL's dog staying here for the week while they're on vacation.

This dog wasn't properly socialized as her main human was (and is) overprotective. Her bad behavior was always dismissed as "frightened puppy" but she's getting worse as she's reached middle age.

Although she hasn't (to my knowledge) bitten anyone, people outside of a few well-known humans who reach for her get a growl with a snap. She's failed to recognize even her main human on an occasion I witnessed and she has a lot of anxiety about being surprised. I'm a bit concerned she may have early onset dementia or something.

So, she's scary around any kids except mine (they are the only kids she met as a puppy) and I'd be afraid to take her somewhere like a bark park after seeing how aggressive she acts toward other dogs while on leash. I took her on a trail hike and she lunged and barked at a pair of German Shepherds that, thank goodness, clearly had a lot of training and a strong male holding the leash. She's a terrier mix, sure, but also an idiot.

BUT, Ziggy likes her. And she apparently remembers the cat we used to have that taught her how to interact with a cat because she's doing well with Ziggy. Hallelujah! He's all about surprising her but from him, she takes it.

This is a big relief for everyone because she doesn't handle kennels well (doesn't eat, lots of anxiety) and the home-based dog care services are limited to only those with the capability of keeping her separated.

Aww poor dog. Sounds like she definitely has a lot of problems and has been somewhat “ruined” by well meaning people. :( it’s sad when that happens imo cause usually they don’t know better and mean well. Although in this case, if she has actually been aggressive and has all these issues, I think I would have stopped dismissing it and sought a trainer by now haha even if it IS just “scared puppy”, it can’t be fun for her to live in constant fear. I have anxiety and sucks. Haha Worse for a dog who can’t understand it or explain it. But of course it’s probably too late now. :/ that is good she gets along with the cat though!! Seems like a pretty rare occurrence for her to get along with something new haha so that’s good!!

Anyway, kind of you to take her and watch her even with all her issues ha

And that said, if it was mine, I think I would have socialized from the beginning and I’m sure you would have too.

Oh well I guess.

I'm the person who took my puppy to the grocery store parking lot several times and invited strangers to interact with him. And we went to obedience classes until he'd earned his canine good citizen certificate. Because I don't like dogs that act like this one does.

I do what I can for her and we make a little progress while she's here but her human won't stick with the program.

For example, I crate her at bedtime. She sleeps solidly until morning when I let her out. She thrives on this routine and there is no stress associated with it. But her human is OK with being woken in the middle of the night by an anxious dog jumping on her. She sees it as her dog missing her and wanting to be near her.

You can't train a dog when their human anthromorphizes them.

We like you.
We don't like seeing you waste your life. The years go by fast and you never get the wasted time back.
We want you to do something.
We want you to do better and stop making excuses.

Somebody looks like a camel with his IV fluids this morning.

@biophiliac
He weighed in at 4 lb 3 oz today.

The little dummy ate something that he shouldn't have that was accidentally spilled on the floor.
It upset his tummy a little bit too much.
He is fine now.
