A lot of people make the mistake that because meat bird feed usually has higher % protein than an all flock or flock raiser feed that it is better but meat bird feed does not have the higher levels of lysine, methionine and niacin so it is actually worse.

In the case of turkeys, once they are adults they can do fine on a layer feed or an all flock feed as long as they get supplemental oyster shell and free range time.
