➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

That seems an expensive update.

Well you don’t have to buy a new one. They just hope you will haha also, after so many years you do eventually have to because the old ones will stop working and you can’t do the software updates or download apps anymore. They do do software updates every so often though but they’re all constantly releasing new models and competing with each other. Haha

Can't seem to catch up! Ya'll are very chatty! Good laughs!
Spent most of today dealing with a 500 pound heifer calf with a broken front leg.
Heat index today was 115. Took us 1.5 hours to walk her and her mother from the back pasture to the barn. Had to make frequent stops for her to rest and drink water from the ponds along the way. Finally got her loaded and to the vet for a cast.
Then storms moving in with tennis ball hail had to run feed and water in the poultry pens before storms hit. Ducks go to coop nicely but the young free ranging chickens refused to go to coop early. Had to get creative with scratch to entice them into the runs. Took longer but was successful.
Then storms shifted SW of us...raining here now.
Midnight...going to bed.
Have to work calves from two pastures thru the chutes tomorrow for vaccinations, banding, tagging and Ivomec.
Will see you again tomorrow.

This is what we are trying to clear and found the vines.

Honey Locusts are the devil!
Especially if you step on one of the thorn/spikes. :duc
Hate locust trees with thorns....ruined many a tractor tire.

It's kind of like the borrow pits here that were dug out to get dirt for the levees. Everyone calls them bar pits.

We call 'em bar ditches.

But seriously... what are you feeding your plants!? :lau
We make our own compost using cow poop and their spent hay and chicken poop and the clean out from the brooder room and hen house. Hubby turns the pile with a tractor. I add it to the beds before planting and then mulch with compost followed by straw.
