Yall have a great day and never forget

I'm finally caught up. :caf
All the post on reptiles...older grandsons have Iguana and crested gecko. Younger grandsons have a salt water tank....supervised by their mom. Their moms don't allow snakes.
My mother was a science teacher so we had several snakes, spiders including three tarantulas, and fish ranks with a diverse variety of fresh water fish.

It has been busy here on the farm.
Three doctor appointments.

The heifer 34w is doing great in her cast. She now can sprint across the lot holding her leg forward just above the ground. Hard to describe but hilarious to watch. The cast comes off the end of the month.

Bomber the bull is finally back to eating feed and hay and has actually begun grazing again. Ended up getting dexamethazone (steroids) for him from the vet and are also giving him B Complex shots. The heat has been 15 degrees above normal so he was laying in the shade during the day and getting up to eat when the sun started to set.
Per vet instructions, I removed the packing patch over the eye socket. The vet did a nice job on the eye removal...it looks like he has his eye shut. Bomber's stitches come out the end of the month.

The young ducks need to be sorted and selections made for breeders or freezer. Of the 14 in the juvenile pen, a maiden duck is laying an egg now. I think it is the one that looks like a mallard.
Best I can tell there are 8 drakes in that group. I have to pick which blue drake to keep for a breeder. One has a green head and the other a brownish color. Input?

The younger ducks were playing "King of the Mountain" on the compost heap and the mothers taught them how to seek nibbles from the hay ring. Bomber is in the background ...he was laying in the mud enjoying the shade...thus the red clay on his rump.

And the adult flock was eager to find tidbits in a swath of grass Hubby laid down with the hay cutter.

The boys have cut, baled and hauled hay.
I have worked 6 garden boxes over so I can plant carrots, turnips and fall greens. Tomatoes are weeded and tied to their panels. And the driveway bed, the front porch bed and the front rock garden have been weeded and sprayed.
:thAnd I'm not done yet.

Id think that brownish color drake might have some kacki Campbell to him and might be able to up your egg production in his offspring so i would opt for him.

I miss having my own ducks so much. One day ill be in the market for show Cayuga --after all this wait i will have exactly what i want :jumpy

I’m over the reptile idea but I just want to say that you guys should be glad you don’t live up here right now because literally like all you guys dream reptiles are on our local Craigslist right now :lau Ackies, tegus, blue tongue skinks, even a fat tail or two. :D and sooo many awesome potential cages (I.e. furniture pieces) all over right now haha there’s like no less than 5 at Savers right now and some actual tanks with screen tops but I think they’re only 10 gal. But some huge furniture pieces for super cheap. This is not making it easy to NOT get a reptile.

Don’t worry though, I’m really not. Just happened to see all those while here and think damn these would be perfect reptile enclosures haha

Like $30, $40, $50 bucks too for these huge things :drool

And before anyone says it, yes I have gotten a lot done today lol and am going to get even more done when I get home. Just had no choice being here so making the best of it lol

Is your room clean?

You shouldn't like something and not respond it appears youre buying time to do something

Didn’t realize there was liking etiquette now too :lau

Whoops

I liked it because I was planning on responding right away, even quoted it, but then I got distracted. I’m making dinner.

Which btw I’m only doing because my dinner was peanut butter on toast

But then I decided I should probably actually make something healthy/eat vegetables and not crap so I stopped eating it and am sautéing peppers and spinach now haha

That usually means she is writing a novel.

:fl I hope I am wrong.

Nope, no novels!! LOL

You happen to be wrong for once  :th

That is shocking  :lau

Anyway, making myself dinner lol

Originally was eating toast and saltines :lau

Although I did make a good breakfast this morning.

4 scrambled eggs, a ton of sautéed spinach, and that vitamin drink lol

And I didn’t touch my phone all morning.

Well, almost.

I did check Instagram for 5 minutes but that was after I ate and I realized I was wasting time and put it down.

But I got up before my alarm, read my book a few minutes, and made breakfast and ate it, all before 11, and checked the chickens and picked some stuff out of the feeder ha and got the one egg that was in there.

And managed to make it on time to do the dog and didn’t touch the phone once till I got home (except to get pictures of the dog of course) so a whole hour and I didn’t even use it sitting in the car or driving or anything. I waited.

Sometimes I go several pages or days without liking posts, and then I notice and have to go back and compulsively like them all.

Nothing wrong with that haha

I tend to be a like as I go type person but I have done that before too haha
