Did the person notice she is missing yet?
End of story, I walked over and talked to the neighbor this morning. They knew that she had escaped because they saw her fly out of their pen. They chased her around their place and on their next door neighbor's place until they lost track of her. He claimed they hoped that she made it back to my place, but never gave a good answer of why they never checked with me to see if she had come home.

Her purchase price has been returned to them and hopefully the episode is over. They were willing to come get her but I feel that since she now knows the way home that it was not a good idea to give her the opportunity to possibly bring home any new diseases.

They've got the cushion combs. Any concerns with them in the heat?

The Easter Eggers have malformed lumps that I guess are strawberry or cushion and aren't as impressive as the single comb Leghorns. The Australorp mix wound up with a rose comb from the Dominique side. Interesting looking. Not a fan though. The teenagers are showing a mix, but few single combs.

I am watching the EEs and they seemed to slow down in the heat. They are slightly heavier in the body than the Leghorns, so factor that in. The Australorp mix is the big girl in the yard and came from the same place as the teenagers. Gonna be interesting what the Barnyard Mixes turn out.

I love em but dont be thinkn ur gonna raise em for meat cuz the size is Horribly misleading, those dots are feather dusters! Still love em. They did well in the heat only slowed down slightly but... theyre free ranged (everybody is on a rotation) and every pen has a full roof and im out there every day to be sure nobody ever runs outa water or tips over the water. All cuz we know what the heat is here and how that can affect them this is where we have to take special precautions. Theyre spose to be rose combs but those sprigs... thats a point im working on as well as tail set and eye color. The breeder i got them from as well as the one she got them from are all breeding to the proposed SOP. The Hona im also working hard on and the fibro genes are Great but the tail set is high on my roo and ive only had one pair of Hona all season. Grown out two pullets and a cockrel this yr who each have zero leakage :yesss:
