➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I listened to the old Shadow Radio Program on CDs I borrowed from my dad. So that is still no excuse!

I don’t think my parents ever listened to that! Idk. I’m gonna ask them.

Cassettes! I got cha

You have enough cassettes for everybody a million times over. :lau

Radio show from the 1940's. The Shadow. That was made into comics, movies and novels. Cthulu was also popular. Sherlock Holmes made the transition better than others of the same ilk. Mom had a lot of references that I thought everyone knew. I used them on my kids. Never occurs to me that some people are cloistered from what I am familiar with. Viva la difference!

I liked Kiki's dictionary. It has clomb in it.

Now, I have a hankering to read Murders in the Rue Morgue. Again. It was published in 1841 the first time. Still a good read. Curious. Have you heard of The Raven published in 1845? I read it in High School literature.

Thank you!! Very helpful!!

Now see I’ve heard of all that other stuff!! Love Sherlock Holmes, read a lot of those stories/novels and watched some of the shows, and read both those Poe stories, but somehow never heard of the other one. I even took a Crime & Detective Fiction class last year and we read/watched/talked about a lot of stuff but that one never came up.

I think maybe it just didn’t survive as well as Sherlock Holmes?

Do you know The Maltese Falcon? Probably a little overrated lol

Nevermore ;)

??

Now you guys have me wanting to read that rue morgue story again and the purloined letter one and a bunch of others. I just found all my notes/handouts and the short stories and novels and everything we read for that Crime & Detective Fiction class. :D

We should start a book club :lau

You need a better dictionary :gig
