After a good rain everything is so green

We got 4 inches of rain yesterday and another 1/2 inch last night.
We slogged thru the lot and working shoots today and gave 45 head of cattle their LA200 shots for Anaplasmosis. That was two pasture herds and the bull pen. We also sprayed them and all the calves with Ivomec for flies and ticks.
We are dragging our butts this afternoon.
I made shrimp/andouille gumbo yesterday. Left overs tonight!

Tomorrow we will work the fall pairs pasture. There are many new calves that need their Covexin 8 in 1 vaccines, need ear tags and little bull calves to band. Then all adults will get their LA200 shots.
If we aren't too tired, we will run thru the Heifer pasture.
Then the first time momma pasture...the last group.

Do you have an automatic gun type thing to shoot each one their meds or do you have to poke each one with a needle?

So, is someone burnt out from studying? Idly searching for lost chicken memes? Does someone need some much deserved sleep and recovery?

How'd the exams go?
procrastinating? Me? Whaaaat... nooo.

I have three more tests to go. 2 on Monday, 1 on Tuesday.
I made a 95% on my animal nutrition test. Biochemistry grades aren’t up. Going on a field trip to a safari park tomorrow morning.
I should be studying right now but, yknow... chicken memes.

For the calves, I use an auto refill 5cc syringe attached to the hanging vaccine bag and stick each calf.
Hubby doesn't like the auto gun because we use 500 ml bottles of LA200 that are glass and heavy....makes it hard to maneuver in the chute. He also refuses to use 50cc syringes because of the arthritis in his hands.
So I pre fill a dozen 20cc plastic syringes to start. He pokes them and gives me the empty syringes. Then working from a temporary station I either sterilize needles in alcohol or replace with a new needle for each cow, fill up the syringe and add it to the ready shots. Often it's just a 10 or 20cc vaccination. But these today were 30cc per cow and 50cc per bull. A little bit more hairy than usual. The three of us got into a routine and progress went well.

Love these!
Here are mine leaving the coop to free range ...

Does it count if I throw scratch when I call them?
