➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

That is an excellent idea!! Thank you!! Maybe I’ll even go write down the current client’s info right now haha

I actually have experience with phone issues. My last phone shit the bed and I lost out on a potential job (same client, they had just asked if I could do an extra day that week) cause of it and that’s when I decided I needed a new one and got this one.

Very welcome! Unfortunate voice of :oldexperience  altho i did get Almost everyone back theres one i really miss and cant find her :hit

This is really helpful!! Thank you for this! Nice to hear from someone who actually does this and has experience with it. Seems much more feasible. And that’s exactly my thing; I probably could make more money doing something else but I love dogs and would rather be working with them. Although I do probably need to get a regular one at first to pay for the start up costs? Although I already have a few clients who I’m sure would be more than happy to provide references and help me get others. Maybe I should do Rover. Idk. Since I already have a couple clients maybe it would be easier to get more without Rover? But Rover has such a wide reach it really is helpful.
Rover also absorbs marketing costs. They are wildly successful with their tactics, obviously. If you start your own business, you need to consider the costs of marketing, in addition to the upfront cost of having an online presence. Prepare to pay someone to build and maintain a website for you. Not cheap.

You set your own perimeters as to what services you would like to provide, and how much you will charge for each service. My friend probably makes the most off doggie day care. It's less stressful, the dog goes home at the end of the day, but she makes almost as much for that as an overnight stay. More if they are puppies, or special needs dogs.

My point is that I don't see an issue with signing up with Rover. You will be making some money, which is better than no money. To be clear, I still think working at a restaurant or coffee shop is smarter. You will make more money, and have a reliable, steady income.

Thanks again! This is really helpful. Didn’t even think about a website or at least not paying someone to maintain it but that is smart. Figured FB would be good too but should probably make a real website.

I really want to get our yard fenced and offer dog day care or boarding. I think that would probably make the most money. Not sure about having tons of dogs at once but even boarding will probably make a lot of money. The drop in visits and that stuff almost isn’t really worth it because of all the driving you have to do.

And thanks, that’s a good point. Definitely better than nothing!

And oh yeah that’s true and definitely also a good point and I definitely know how not stable this can be, some months I make barely anything, others I make tons, so that’s bad, but I also don’t have that many regular clients, I think if I had more it would be more steady. But you’re right that those types of jobs are a lot more stable. I just don’t want to be stuck doing that or being in an office the rest of my life. But I do think I will get a regular one for now and just make the dog thing a side gig until I can get a little more established and maybe open a training center or something.

Is this a test for us?
Didn’t mean to post that.
Pop quiz!
:hit I am sorry. I know how much you will miss her :hugs

Tad is still hiding but alert. I am gonna be bummed when/if she totally zonks out.

On a lighter note, I learned today she is a hipster that only drinks flavored water
Flavored water huh?
You know what’s weird? I’ve never seen IV drink. It kinda freaks me out, but she’s not dehydrated or anything, so..

Prior to last week, I had never seen Tad drink anything, ever. I have tried pretty much every trick I have seen or read too. Being an overprotective pet parent, and this being her first winter....I have been kinda freaking out about dehydration now that she isn’t eating very much. But last week I figured out that if I smash a few berries and mix the juice/pulp into some water, then slowly drip the mixture onto her nose...she will lap it up! :woot

TL;DR I am insane and Tad likes berry infused water.

:lau that is amazing

Love the TL;DR :lau

Making hand-muddled beverages for a lizard is among the more ridiculous things I have ever done.

But I love her. And I have lost so many pets in the last year...I am willing to put some effort into spoiling her :)

Hey I chopped peppers and spinach and basically made a doggie meatloaf for a dog tonight soooo :lau  mixed it all up with some ground beef and a raw egg lol

And awww I’m sorry :hugs

That makes total sense though!
