➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Making hand-muddled beverages for a lizard is among the more ridiculous things I have ever done.

But I love her. And I have lost so many pets in the last year...I am willing to put some effort into spoiling her :)
Lmao. I love those moments where you realize how far into ridiculousness you’ve gotten while doing something for an animal. Like, “huh. So this is my life now.”
I will definitely be trying the berry water trick! Especially if she wakes up again soon.

Speaking of doing ridiculous things for animals: has anyone tried or heard of valerian root?
I’m very skeptical about oil and tincture hooplah, but I bought this stuff for Theia while half asleep when she woke me up at 3am the other night.

We gave her half a dropper-full during the windstorm today and it knocked her out. She was still anxious but very drowsy and not trembling. She was content to sleep with us instead of pacing the house. Success?

That seems like a success to me

Pro-tip: if you are going to be drip dropping it onto her nose, try it while she is soaking. Even with Tad cooperating, quite a bit always runs down off her head and chin. Clean up is easier if she is already in the bath. Good luck!

There is valerian in DH’s favorite nighttime tea (extra sleepy bear by New Mexico Tea Company). He swears by the stuff. Says it helps him become drowsy and relaxed after a stressful day. So maybe the stuff is legit?

Does seem legit but I’m not sure drowsy during the day would be good? So maybe only would be good when you want her to sleep? Or maybe a smaller dose might have the anti anxiety effects without the drowsiness?

But I may have to find some of that tea haha but seems they probably don’t sell it around here? :hit
