➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

That is so cool!!! I am too. Love nature. We have tons of deer, foxes, hawks, etc. and I love it. And the bunnies in the spring. A little sick of the squirrels and chipmunks though. :lau and we had some turkeys hanging around for a while. I love turkeys. :love

That said, of course, I hate the foxes and hawks when they’re near my chickens! LOL
I once rescued a chipmunk who was outside during a hurricane and I found him in a puddle almost dead. I released after caring for him for 2 weeks.

This is how Banty mass produces her elves.. it all makes sense now.

I'm not sure what is even remotely strange about mixing cream and butter to brush on a pie or other pastries. I mean, it's kinda standard practice in most baking. Baking at a little place on the water was my first ever real job! I learned a lot there. I'll bet Elko's pie was rad... mine was better because it had real sugar in it.

Awwww that’s awesome!! I love the little guys but we are overrun with them this year and they get into everything lol

Some days I sit out in the yard or stand out in the yard and just stare at the chickens and ducks! They're so cool!

I love staring at my chickens haha

My grandmother that was a fabulous cook and baker taught me to brush the crust with a milk and egg wash. The butter goes right in the pie, not on top of the crust.

My pie has real sugar in it too, just not as much as yours.

I put butter in the pie too. A healthy dotting. I've done the egg and milk wash too. I like the look of the eggs wash, but the flavor of the butter.
I do prefer egg wash on specific types of bread, though.
