No, I keep mine on. Some people turn them off if they allow their kids to sit in the front. Like younger kids, under the teen years.

The force of the earliest airbags have decapitated short people - meaning small statured women and specifically children. The guidelines were to turn it off for short people and children if they road in the front. Safer for them to ride in the back. Also to have the seat adjusted as far to rear as possible.

For example, Batty needs to turn it off if an elf rides in the front seat of the sleigh.

Another example of the safety police forcing measures down our throats. Seat belts then shoulder belts. Air bags and now side curtain airbags. Before you know it, we will have self driving vehicles because human drivers aren't safe. You will be sealed in an indestructible black box for transportation.

Not even mentioning motorcycles and helmets.
