➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I'm not sure how long Anabelle will live, she had a rough life before we got her. She has a deformed leg and her knee sockets are shallow. I do therapy with her and we try to do everything possible.
sorry to read. Cherish each day you have with her. But with that being said as you know these dogs have an extremely high will to live. I hope y'all have a lot more time together. I have a pic of me and my Male (bluhavens gatekeeper zach) I'll try to find. He is all natural his ears were not cropped cause he was a therapy dog. Not be me he was retired by the time I got him

I like getting older dogs. My beagle was 4 when we got her. I want to get an older farm dog. I can't stand seeing dogs sitting in a shelter waiting for someone and sometimes no one ever comes.

Hubby is freaking out more than I am. He started talking about giving her up to a shelter if she was dying and needed emergency surgery or something.. I don’t even know, I didn’t let him finish that train of thought.
:th
she’s his baby.
A while back when the faker got sick and was pooping water...after that finished he didn't poop for two days. The vet told me not to worry that since he was out on wet food only that he wouldn't poop as much.
As soon as I hung up the phone with the vet he pooped.

Welcome to the internet. If you put your opinion out there, why can’t I reply with mine? It’s not personal, we just disagree and that’s okay.
I’m surprised you have not encountered this more often as a former vet tech.

I think not using heartworm preventative is silly and looking for trouble. That’s my opinion from my own life experiences and everyone in this thread definitely knows that by now. Lol.
I also believe almost all homemade diets are unbalanced and result in nutritional deficiencies. Again: my experience. If your’s is balanced and vet approved, that’s awesome. Good for you! Really.
Most people do not have the time, money, or care to properly formulate a homemade/raw diet.

Now as long as we can agree that DE is not a dewormer then we can all get along. Lmao.
I have a question.

My vets won't give me heartworm medication for Puckers. They say that mosquitoes don't live long enough here. Does that make sense? A mosquito is a mosquito right? (I've had more than 1 vet say this)

That would be weird coming from a vet down here.
No clue if that is normal up there.

Over here they recommend it as well. They also recommended it in Maine and NH when I lived there.

I think that it all depends on your location on what the vets think. I might be wrong, but I have noticed that vets recommend different things in different areas.

All of the vets that this person has seen could all be influenced by each other if you get what I'm saying.

Making apple crumb cake because I have a ton of apples left over from Thanksgiving.

Insanely sick today so this should be fun. It's my dogs birthday today! Hoping to make her a cake or a special dinner for tonight.

Anyone have crockpot recipes for chicken breast?
Onions, celery, mushrooms, cream of mushroom soup and either peas or broccoli at the last minute serve over rice.
