➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Tease!

How do you set up the pictures for your chicks? Do you drug them? All the ones I tried refused to pose. Bouncy, flouncy little things. I think Kiki needs a photo shoot with naked here. Top down shots don't show off the bowtie.
Yes! Get more pics of him.
I've already named him too.
Dick.
Short for ridiculous.

I find disorienting them by letting them fall asleep in my hands before suddenly plunking them down on a cold, bright towel and shoving a camera in their face works for a few shots. My main trick is having the area bright enough for the aperture to stay fast, which reduces the fuzzing effect of movement. (I use automatic settings, so I don't need to mess with it manually.)

Is that what Dick is short for? :lau

I'm hoping for hens, but we know how that works out. Do you need any pullets? The coop has shrunk. These are lap chickens in training.

Oh, yeah. Pretty sure I went back for more. Never busted a bone. Yet.
So, totally random question, not related to anything on this thread, either future, present or past. What kind of knives do you prefer? The heavy Bowie knives or the more svelte razors? You strike me as the up front, machete-in-the-face kind of gal.

Worst vine swing incident was where the hatchet in my belt gouged my side on the landing. Lucky the edge was far enough forward, I only got skinned by the top. Landed flat on my keister. And the hatchet handle shoving the head into my ribs. The 1" tree that we cleared for the swing and left an 8" stump was a good 6" forward of my landing spot. Remember safety kids! Some experiences leave a mark. Some leave scars.
