Interesting how the paradigms change over time. And wow, I'm getting old.

Not saying to change who you are. Do not adopt a false personality or pretend to be someone you are not.I don’t want to have to completely change who I am for somebody and I would never expect that from them either.
And while we’re at it, are we talking only self improvement/personality traits or does this list usually include physical traits or?
I watch Star trek... Beam me up ScottyAnd flip phones look like communicators in Star Trek.

Yes, my DH stands tall and I think it's his best quality. It makes him look strong and confident. People always ask if he was in the military. He wasn't but his brother died in Afghanistan. DH looked up to him most of his life! Not saying to change who you are. Do not adopt a false personality or pretend to be someone you are not.
Be yourself, but be the best version of you that is possible atm. Know your abilities and expand them as you are able. Learn how to fix basic things. Learn how to cook, I'm not talking 5 star chef, but at least basic meals and learn how to read a recipe and how to modify from there. Learn patience and different ways to communicate. Learn to speak clearly and project your voice. Learn things that you are interested in and excite you.
Note: I'm not saying you lack any of these skills/attributes. But that I think they are something that the vast majority of people are probably looking for.
Physical attributes: don't change what you look like if you don't want to. I do recommend that you work on good posture, because posture affects so many things. Actually just standing or sitting with good posture makes you look more confident and that can translate to feeling more confident. Slouching or sitting incorrectly can cause health issues.
I don't agree with this statement fully...
I don't think you should have to change for someone, but if you feel like you need to change the person you are with should better you to be what you want to be. They should have expectations of you and cheer you on. Be by your side.
I won't go into details, but SH has changed his whole life 180 for the better. He changed because he saw how I was living even though I was just told my disease prognosis is death. There's no cure nothing. I'm an achiever and a person who exceeds beyond expectations. I'm the friend people rely on... Me, the one who's sick. You'd never guess I was sick at all. DH coworkers really love seeing my smile when I come in the office, they say I inspire them.
I've been watching them since 1987 with my dad. My brother since 1984 and my other brother since 1981. My parents watched all of them and Star wars too. My aunt names all her cats after people in Star trek. My favorite cat of hers was Dax.Men in Black, 1997. 22 years old.
Star Trek debuted in 1966. 53 years old. I watched reruns.![]()
