➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

In the States, robbing a post office would be a federal offense.

Is this a floor furnace or a wall furnace?
Hubby suggested...
Use a small wire brush at the pilot light. There may be rust or corrosion and the brush will help clean it. Be sure to vacuum out the gri before lighting the pilot again.
If it has a filter either change it or if it is reuseable wash it.

Update: They were terrible for the price! Had hard dark streaks through out the flesh! I salvaged enough to make a cup and a half of guacamole.
Won't buy these again out if season.
The seeds were about the size of a duck egg...might sprout some nice trees.

Wow! High carbs. Diabetic delight.
It's electric. It's a wire

I didn’t think it was all that bad, but I confess I don’t remember much of it.
It’s absolutely nothing like the book though, I’m not sure why they even have the same title.

I’m sold. Is this free?

Thanks! That’s good to know. I think I may still try to watch it anyway.

But yeah, seems like that’s pretty common when they make movies from books. It’s often totally different and/or way worse. Though there are a few good ones.

Nah. People have been flocking to watch executions since the dawn of time. Humans have always been messed up.

That’s a good point. I hadn’t thought about it.

Yes. Still in the free section.

the main story is near the end. Climax is disturbing, but he wants to explain the background of why they were treated like this.

So it’s based on a specific story/case then?

A series of true to life, historical stories leading to the climax.

When is the death penalty warranted? When is death by torture warranted? Just got to the section about wheeling. Similar to Crucifixion, it doesn't kill you outright. It just makes you wish you were dead sooner. Crucifixion was designed to kill you by exposure to the elements if dehydration didn't. One of the unpleasant facts usually not discussed.

Are you familiar with Vlad the Impaler? Roman Colosseum? The actual Grimm Fairy Tales? Not the Disney interpretations. They really cleaned Cinderella up.

On a brighter note, The 3D group is starting to jump and flap at 2.5 weeks old. Holding the temperature at 75-ish to get them ready for outside. They are doing fine.

Thanks, sounds pretty interesting, especially if it also includes a historical component. But I still don’t know if I’d like that type of thing. Idk. Guess I gotta try it to find out haha

I did know about the fairy tales though or at least that the original ones were much darker and definitely not for children but I never actually read the originals or anything like that. I just had heard that.

ETA:

And Rome they used to fight to death in the pits right or is there more to it than that? And I think I’ve heard of that other guy. Isn’t he what they based vampires on? Or am I thinking of someone else? Ha

I love history... Lots of it is pretty gruesome too. I really like Vikings, Egyptians, and Roman history.

Yes! Even when I was a kid I would stay up all night if the book was good.

I’ll read short books on Kindle Unlimited but if I’m paying for it the book better be 350 pages or more. Preferably over 400.
There's a website called BookBub. They send you emails daily of deals. I've got at least 500 books now... all free. I get this for my kobo, but I believe that they do the same for kindle.

The Roman Colosseum was more than Gladiators. Think public executions and murder for pleasure.
You will have to research on Vlad. I don't remember any vampire connections.
I finished the first hour of the podcast.
:wee

 :th really!?

And I’ll have to look it up. I thought he was the real life basis for Dracula.

That stuff is pretty interesting too!

What I find really interesting though is how the Roman civilization was so advanced.... I mean, they had bathhouses and running water/aqueducts, sewage systems, some really advanced stuff for the time... and the huge Colosseum and infrastructure which could not have been easy to build and it all just.... collapsed. Went dark. Went into the Dark Ages. It just amazes me that’s possible.

 you listened to the whole thing!?
