➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Hopefully. I'm going to put these ones I'm tonight I think. My bator is running and it's been running for a couple days.

Sounds like a good plan!! Although that may result in a pretty staggered hatch but I’m sure it will be fine. :)

They weren't sure if the eggs would be viable due to the cold mornings, but I think they'll be fine. We will see!

I’m sure they’ll be fine too!! How long were they out in the cold?

Looking at these pictures, I’m not so sure about him anymore. That white one in front looks to be a definite boy and compared to him, the other really does not have that red of a comb or very big so “he” may be a girl after all. :fl

Or a slow developing boy.

But I’m rooting for two girls and a boy for you. :fl

I know right!? I didn’t use any of them but did use my own phone for Spotify. But I gotta say.... if I could watch Netflix or play cards or browse social media while exercising.... I sure as hell would exercise a lot more. :lau
Our treadmill is in the den with the tv....good way to watch a walk.

Baluttie peeps: who here keeps bantam chickens? DH wants the new flock to include some fakers :th Any special advice or things I need to be aware of? We have never had bantams before.
We have bantams...several color varieties of Old English Game, Delaware, d'Anvers, and the one Serama hen and Ansel the Sebrite. They eat the layer pellets and the chicks need small crumble.

Just discovered Ideal also has Iowa Blues, a breed I discovered a couple years ago but had forgotten about.... I may have to place an order with them at some point :lau

Probably not this year though or at least not until later in the year.

I want to get a couple more kennels set up so I can keep a few separate flocks as my coop isn’t big enough to add a ton more birds.

Or I may just focus on the brabanters and production birds and wait to get Iowa Blues until I can find a good breeder. I’m sure hatchery quality ones aren’t great.

That’s what I’d like to do. I’m sure I would exercise way more or enjoy it more if I could watch TV while doing it. But we don’t have room in our living room for a treadmill I don’t think. :(

I might just join a gym.
