I was just looking at the bantams on Meyers site. I want to do an assortment of them and hope I get the frizzle Cochin

I recently discovered that Meyers really doesn’t have a ton of bantams compared to other places.

Cackle has tons but they’re pretty expensive. Ideal does too and they have no minimum on chicks, just a $30 minimum (which is actually pretty easy to meet with a fairly small number of chicks) and I found out it’s free shipping

Black rosecomb are beautiful in person they have the iridescent green sheen in the black

I bet they are really quite something.

My Black Australorps have a little bit of the green iridescent thing, sometimes purple, but I bet it’s even prettier with them.

I'll never do indoor chicks again! I just made the lizard room all nice with plants and all. Ain't no chicks ruining that room!

You do realize that there is no such thing as free shipping? When free shipping is advertised, the shipping has already been calculated into the price.

Yeah I figured and some of their prices are a little bit higher to compensate for that but others are not that high and comparable to other hatcheries. Either way, it still works out cheaper than a lot of other places.

For example, Meyer charges $35 for shipping if you have less than 15 chickens. So if you ordered 6 chicks at say $4 a chick, your little $24 order would turn into like $60 for 6 little chicks. That’s insane.
