I think a hawk got it somehow as my mom saw one out there this morning but I don’t really get how as I specifically put hardware cloth other the top so that wouldn’t happen. I guess it must have gotten it on the ground. I’ve secured it as best I can for now and will be buying some more hardware cloth to permanently wrap it when I get home.

I know.

I feel awful about it. I think he got trapped in that corner somehow and nabbed.

He was super friendly and cuddly too! I was thinking of keeping him.

I know sometimes friendly can mean aggression later but he wasn’t overtly friendly. Was still respectful or even scared of me and would move away from me when I got near him but if I caught him, he would settle into my lap for some pets and cuddles.

I think he maybe thought I was his momma cause he was the first to hatch.

You can have Johnny 5 look alike that's at my house. He's a barred rock jersey giant mix. He's very friendly, I don't want to butcher him but that was his purpose. He's the only one left of the ones I hatched.

I think both of you could probably help me with this. I want to turn a mini fridge that I am no longer using into an incubator... What do I need?

I want to use this one as my incubator until lockdown and then I want to put the lockdown eggs into my farm innovator 4250

I should have made sure it was fully secure before ever putting them in there though. I was unnecessarily playing with fire and Johnny payed the price.

He was my favorite. The other two losses I’ve had were favorites too. Why is it always the freaking favorite!?
