This is what platelets look like when you get a transfusion. View attachment 2019488
Platelets are part of your blood. They are a little tiny blood cells that help your blood clot.
I think they are worried because every time they tourniquet me I get massive bruises because my platelets are so low.
Plus if I get a bleed or something, it would not be good.
I had the water cups but the little nipple in the cup would get dirt or something caught and would countinually drip water. I finally gave up and got out the old fount waterer. You guys should get the water cups, I like them better and so don't my chickens
LOL That is exactly what I do when it gets cold enough to freeze. Great minds think alike I guess.I don’t have electricity in the cops themselves but they are close to the house so I have an extension cord running from the garage to the coop to power the heated water bowl. I was initially worried about the cups freezing in the winter but I switch to a heated bowl in winter anyway so wouldn’t be an issue for me I don’t think. I can see how it would be if you don’t have electricity out there though.
Hmm weird. My birds love my water cups. It's the only water safe from the ducks because the ducks hate itI had the water cups but the little nipple in the cup would get dirt or something caught and would countinually drip water. I finally gave up and got out the old fount waterer.
I fermented my feed for awhile, then just got lazy and gave dry feed. I just kept 3 plastic containers with lids on the kitchen counter and numbered them 1,2,3. I put the feed and water in a container each day. ON the morning of day 4, I gave the chickens the feed in #1 then refilled it and put it at the end of the row. The next day, #2 and so on, just rotating the containers with daily feed- so that it fermented for 3 days before feeding. I can do that with the few chickens I have. They did seem to do better - shiny feathers, less smelly poop, and ate and wasted less. I may dig out the old containers and do it again. Thanks!! Both of these are very helpful. I read some article about fermenting once that said most of the stuff labeled “fermenting” were wrong and not actually fermented or whatever and it had to be done this special fancy complicated way or adding some special thing or something (they weren’t selling anything but idk remember what ingredient it was) so that kinda put me off from it.I’m thinking that person was wrong though. It said it didn’t have any of the benefits unless you did it their way
