While looking for a specific photo this evening, I stumbled across this one from years ago.

First time helping a duckling. It's 48 hours after hatch time and this one had movement when I was doing egg-topsies. The egg shell membrane was stuck the the membrane so I had to use a sterile knitting needle and an 18 gauge to get to his bill and get it out. I had to peel a lot of the shell and outer (egg shell) membrane off

I about passed out from holding my breath

There's a lot of yolk left, but this thing is a fighter. It's not giving up and definitely has strength left especially now that it can breathe.

Husband said I can keep it if it makes it and he named it lucky 🍀
