We used to have some wild blackberry bushes in the front field before we bush hogged it all down. Back before I had even thought about getting chickens, my F-I-L had a few and they loved them. They didn’t care 1 whit about the thorns. I think they just thought they were there to help them perch so they could gobble as many blackberries as they could. That is the area that we mowed, cleared out and put up fencing and now my own chickens reside in.

They are really easy to kill here. They don't like my water.

Don't get me wrong, I would never intentionally kill a blackberry plant.

If these things would fruit and taste good, they would have been worth the effort. They produce more thorns than fruit and are hard to mow around. The wild birds eat most. The seeds stick in my teeth.

Grandpa has some that produce berries as long and as big as my last thumb joint. You see the fruit this one produces. Can't believe Crazy Lady bought these 15 years ago.

All because she’s not a Chowda Head that’s why I moved, they’re not vegan lovers up there just kidding... but in all honesty they don’t pride vegan eating like they do in the more southern states. Texas would toss me out, they are all about the meat.

We have vegan only aisles in our grocery stores.

So you are like we are... that’s how our stores are set up. When I went to San Antonio when I was 18, it was all about the meat. Back then I didn’t like meat either unless it was buffalo chicken tenders.
