⭐ Kiki's Year Long 🌶️

Sitting on the deck while mr muddy cooking the quail and he saw something (as did Tater) he thought one of my quail had sneaked out while I was feeding. Upon closer inspection it’s a baby rabbit that managed to find its way into the club muddy fortress!!!! 🤣 it’s currently hiding somewhere under the deck. We set the small live trap with some celery hoping he goes to it instead of the jaws of a dog or in the garden :th If he does, we will hug him and feed him with the other baby rabbits until hunting season!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
*disclaimer* I kinda have a permit and a valid hunting license 🤣

Hug him and kiss him and name him "George."

I just broke out my smoker and a dozen quail from the freezer. I'm preparing the brine now (it's from @Kiki ). The brine smells really good. I'm letting it cool now, then I'll let the quail soak in it overnight and smoke them tomorrow.

We butchered Sunday and rested in brine (1c canning salt, 1c brown sugar and 2 bay leaves) until last night. We put these in marinade (teriyaki and black pepper). Then sprinkled a bit of chicken salt on. Taste was AMAZING!!! But we could have cooked another hour for tenderness. Mr muddy wants to do it one more time and write down the exact recipe 😂

If you want to make your own teriyaki marinade, it's really easy. Equal parts soy sauce, sugar, sake, and mirin.
