No joke to lead into it but I highly recommend reading about Holt Collier. A famous Bear hunter in Mississippi. Fought as a slave for the confederacy. Killed more bears than Davy Crockett and Danial Boone combined and led two hunts for Teddy Roosevelt. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holt_Collier
