I went out to give my growouts their evening feeding and I startled something low, flattish, and red. I'm searching to see what it might have been. It's probably the thing that has a couple burrows on the other side of the railroad tracks. When I say burrows, though, the entrances are a good 12-15" wide.

Too big for a pocket gopher. I'm kind of leaning towards marmot.

Yep. I was worried for my quail first. Now I'm worried about my garden. From what I've been reading, they have colonies of 20+ animals in their burrows. Their burrow entrance is about 200' from my greenhouse.
