you can fly really well but they usually will not fly too far away from their home base and food and water.
You can always wing clip if you're worried about them getting too far away.

Pretty sure they're decent fliers.

It's more that I'm worried about them flying around inside my house. I supposed I could put a curtain between the pond and the breakfast nook. They probably wouldn't fly through that unless really spooked.

I'm planning the atrium to be 2 floors high, with the breakfast nook and the exercise room upstairs open to it.

I've been playing with the plans, so it's a 2 car garage, not a 3 car garage, there will probably be fewer angles, but this is what I'm looking at.

Now mr muddy has me scared! He just said he can’t believe I didn’t run a supplemental heater out for my birds in the main aviary tonight

We have been fighting over it and I even put my jacket on to run the heater, but not absolutely sure how many actually use the hideaway where running the heater, and risk of stirring everyone up at bedtime might be more detrimental. They’ve done well this far but may run the heater in the daylight in preparation for Friday night that’s forecasted even colder

How well do they fly? The atrium will be kind of open to the rest of the house. There will be a half wall on the pond side so I can have breakfast or whatever looking over the pond. The other side will be accessed by a door to my bedroom and another door to the back yard.

The ones my brother had left home by flying away.
