Mine aren't theories. I witness their evil on a daily basis since they put a wind farm in across the road from me. Now our local power company is shutting down their coal fired plant and turning to the more expensive, less efficient, less reliable and evil wind farms. Not the giant ones, the smaller ones like what goes on a rooftop.
How are they harmful to wildlife? I know some theories, but not much.
One of the never mentioned evils is that the shadows cast by the vanes as they rotate terrify animals.
There was a herd of Pronghorn Antelope that wintered on the south facing slope across the road. I have not seen an antelope there since the wind farm was put in.
The eagles used to hunt that valley for jackrabbits every winter. Not anymore.
The only thing that this particular wind farm has done good for me is that every winter the starlings would come in by the thousands right through where the wind farm is. They would land in my field and turn the field black from how many thousands there were.
I still get starlings coming in by the hundreds but they come from a different direction and only show up in the hundreds.
